Lithium Indium Alloy Sheet Li-In Alloy Piece For Solid State Cell Battery Opposite Electrode
In the field of liquid lithium-ion batteries, the preliminary evaluation of positive and negative electrode materials, electrolyte or diaphragm is usually assembled in half-battery tests, that is, using lithium metal as the opposite electrode.
However, in the sulfide solid electrolyte battery system, the sulfide electrolyte is unstable to lithium metal, and generally lithium metal can not be directly used as the opposite electrode, but lithium indium alloy (Li-In) is used as the opposite electrode to assemble the half battery.
The Li-In alloy has a flat lithium-embedded working platform, and its lithium electric potential can be constant at 0.62 V vs.Li+/Li in a large range.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is a Lithium Indium (Li-In) Alloy Sheet used for?
It is primarily used as the opposite electrode in sulfide solid electrolyte battery systems for half-battery testing, as pure lithium metal is unstable against sulfide electrolytes.
Why is Lithium Indium preferred over pure lithium metal in solid-state cell testing?
Pure lithium metal reacts unfavorably with sulfide-based solid electrolytes. The Li-In alloy creates a stable, flat lithium-embedded working platform, facilitating reliable measurements.
What is the electric potential of the Li-In alloy?
The lithium electric potential of the Li-In alloy remains highly constant at 0.62 V vs. Li+/Li across a broad range.
What dimensions and sizes are available for the alloy pieces?
We supply sheets in 0.1*100*100mm, as well as disc pieces in Dia. 10mm*0.1mm and Dia. 14mm*0.1mm. Custom inquiries are welcome.
What other solid state materials can you provide?
We offer a wide range of solid state electrolyte powders and sheets, including LLZTO, LLZO, LLTO, LAGP, LATP, LGPS, PEO, LPSCl, LPS, NPSCl, NZSPO, and Li3InCl6.
